HISTÒRIA

El moviment excursionista neix amb l’associacionisme català de finals del segle XIX, un corrent que acull les diferents tendències culturals, nacionalistes i esportives de l’època. Els primers excursionistes, influenciats per la Renaixença, buscaven en l’arquitectura i l’art popular la base de la nació catalana.

Des de la fundació del primer club a l’estat espanyol el 1876, el Centre Excursionista de Catalunya, la història de l’excursionisme català ha passat per diferents etapes. No cal dir que les dictadures i la guerra civil van afectar greument l’associacionisme català, afortunadament però, les poques entitats excursionistes que sobrevisqueren van ajudar a la recuperació de les altres.

ANTECEDENTS: El 26 de juny de 1910 es va celebrar un Aplec Excursionista al monestir de Poblet. Davant de l'èxit d'assistència es va proposar la celebració un congrés excursionista per tal de debatre d'una manera concreta totes les qüestions que en l'aplec s'havien plantejat.

El 24 de juny de 1911 se celebrà el I Congrés Excursionista a Lleida. Una de les proposicions va ser la de federar les entitats excursionistes i s'acordà mantenir la federació espontània i espiritual nascuda de l'Aplec de Poblet l'any anterior.

En el II Congrés celebrat a Manresa el 29 de juny de 1912 es va presentar la comunicació: "Bases per establir una federació d'entitats excursionistes de Catalunya". El gener de 1920 fou nomenada una comissió formada per Agustí Duran i Sanpere, Josep M. Co de Triola i Timoteu Colomines per a redactar les bases d'una federació d'entitats excursionistes i, com a conseqüència, es constituí la Lliga de les Societats Excursionistes de Catalunya, presidida per Cèsar August Torras, a base d'un Directori Central i un Consell de Delegats, amb trenta-sis entitats associades.

El IV Aplec Excursionista al castell de Claramunt va ser el darrer coordinat per la Lliga. Pocs mesos després hi hagué el cop d'estat del 1923.

El 1925 es produí un intent de recuperació de la Lliga però l'autoritat governativa no l'autoritzà.

Un Secretariat de Coordinació sense manifestacions externes actuà fins al 1930, data en la qual recuperà l'esperit de la Lliga amb la denominació de Federació d'Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya i amb una actuació totalment normalitzada, presidida pel Centre Excursionista de Catalunya; la vice-presidència l'ostentava l'Agrupació Excursionista Catalunya i la secretaria l'Associació Joventut Excursionista "Avant" (que l'any 1931 s'anomenà Unió Excursionista de Barcelona i l'any 1933 Unió Excursionista de Catalunya).

Els estatuts de la nova federació s'aprovaren l'1 de juny del 1933. Dintre de la federació es va promoure, l'any 1933, la Federació Catalana d'Esquí, que actuava com a filial, així com també ho feia el Càmping Club de Catalunya (Federació d'Acampada). Posteriorment, el 1985, es va crear la Federació Catalana d'Espeleologia amb elements provinents del Comitè Català d'Espeleologia de la FEEC.

L'any 1939, després de la desfeta d'entitats, concretament el mes de maig, les autoritats del moment van crear una "Federación de Montañismo y Esquí de los Pirineos Orientales", que ocupà la seu de la dissolta Federació d'Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya, i la dotaren d'estatut el 30 de setembre de 1940.

L'octubre de 1941 es va crear una "Federación Catalana de Esquí" que va substituir la de "Montañismo" i es va fer càrrec de tot el seu patrimoni.

Organitzada a Madrid la "Federación Española de Montañismo", es va crear la "Delegación Regional para Cataluña" el mes de gener de 1946. Aquesta delegació, el febrer de 1962, va ser convertida en "Federación Catalana de Montañismo".

La Federació d'Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya va recuperar la seva denominació el 3 d'octubre de 1976 i en el juny de 1978 les entitats de la FEEC reunides a Manresa es dotaren d'un nou estatut, amb criteris democràtics que, enllaçant amb l'esperit dels del 1933, ha servit de base a l'organització federativa actual.

L'any 1982 es va reformar l'estatut per tal d'adaptar-lo a les noves disposicions de la Generalitat de Catalunya.

El pas dels anys i una nova legislació van fer necessària l'actualització, i és per aquest motiu que les entitats, reunides en Assemblea Nacional, a la vila de Taradell el dia 3 de març de 1991 van aprovar un estatut que ha arribat fins a l'actualitat.

THE HISTORY OF FEEC
The rambling movement was born in connection with the Catalonian society dating from the end of the XIX century. There was a movement that brought together different cultural, national and sport tendencies called the "Renaixença" from the above-mentioned period. The first ramblers under the influence of the "Renaixença" tried to find the fundaments of the Catalonian nation in the popular architecture and art.

From the foundation of the first club made in the State of Spain on 1876, of the Rambling Centre in Catalonia, the history of the Catalonian rambling clubs have passed trough the different stages.
It is not necessary to mention the strong impact of the dictatorship and the civil war, made on the Catalonian society, luckily yet, the small number of the rambling entities who survived helped to the recuperation of the others.

THE BACKGROUND: On the day 26 of July 1910 was celebrated one assembly of rambling clubs in the monastery of Poblet. Considering the success of the audience present was proposed the celebration of one rambler's Congress in order to facilitate the discussion in one concrete manner about all the relevant questions which were presented in the meeting.

On the day of 24 of June 1911 was celebrated the first Congress of the rambling clubs in Lleida. One of the prepositions was to federate the rambling entities and to keep the spontaneous and spiritual federation born on the assembly of the monastery of Poblet one year before.

On the II Congress celebrated in the city of Manresa that took place on the 29 of June 1912 was presented the report called: "The establishing fundaments of the rambling entities in Catalonia". On January of 1920 was nominated one commission formed by Agustí Duran i Sanpere, Josep M. Co de Triola and Timoteu Colomines with the task to draw up the basis of one rambling entities Federation .As a consequence was formed the Lliga of the Catalonian rambling societies, with Cesar August Torras as a president, on the basis of the central board of directors and a town council of delegates, with thirty-six clubs associated.

The IV assembly of the rumbling clubs, which was held in the castle of Claramunt, was the last one coordinated by the Lliga. Some months later happened the military attack within the country and all the government power had ended in theirs arms.

On the year of 1925 had been made one intent of recuperation the Lliga but the governmental authorities did not authorised it.

One secretaryship of co-ordination, without the external manifestation, was acting until the year of 1930,the date on which was recuperated the spirit of the Lliga with the name " Federation of rambling entities in Catalonia. The Federation was operating with total normalisation of activities, presided by Centre of Catalonian rambling clubs. The vice-presidency was obtained by the Youth association of ramblers named "Avant" (which was named the Union of the rumbling clubs of Barcelona, on the year of 1931,and had changed into the Union of the rambling clubs of Catalonia on the year of 1933.)

The statute of the new federation was adopted on the 1 of June 1933.Inside of the federation was promoted the Catalonian Federation of skiing on the year of 1933, which was operating as a subsidiary, in the similar way like the Camping Club of Catalonia (federation of camping clubs). Afterwards, on the year of 1985,was created the "Catalonian Federation of the Potholing" with the elements coming from the Catalonian Potholing Committee of the FEEC.

On the year of 1939, after the disintegration of the entities, concretely in the month of May, the authorities in charge had decided to create one "Federation of the skiing and climbing in the eastern Pyrenees". This federation engaged the disintegration headquarters that belonged to the Federation of the rambling clubs of Catalonia, and it was endowed with the statute of organisation on the 30 of September 1940.

On the October of 1941 was created one "Federation of skiing in Catalonia" which had substituted the one of the "climbing", and was in charge of all theirs heritage.

The "Climbing Federation of Spain" organised in the city of Madrid, had made the "Regional Delegation for Catalonia" on the month of January 1946.

On the February of 1962 this delegation was converted into the "Catalonian Federation of Climbing".

The Federation of the rambling clubs in Catalonia had recuperated its designation on the 3 of October 1976 and on the June of 1978 the entities of FEEC reunited in town of Manresa. On the reunion they had endowed the new statute, with the democratic approach that had linked with the spirit made in the year of 1933, and it had served like the basis of the actual federal organisation.

On the year of 1982 was restructured the statute in order to be able to adopt the new dispositions of the Catalan autonomous government.

With the pass of the years and the new legislation was necessary to update the information and because of this reason the entities reunited on the National Assembly that took place on the 3 of March 1991 in town of Taradell. They had approved one statute, which did not change until today.
